"The Dunk Heard Round the World"Lorenzo Charles 1963 - 2011
Today my Alma Mater lost one of their true greats! Lorenzo Charles was best known for "The Dunk Heard Round the World". He hit the winning shot to lift the 1983 N. C. State Wolfpack team to their 2nd National Title in an unlikely victory againt University of Houston. I had met him several times, when he was driving our fraternity to a school function, and he was always extremely nice and patient with our crowd. RIP Lorenzo Charles.
